The LightDisc is a 3 mm thin acrylic glass pane which contains fluorescent particles. As a result, the plate literally glows, even in daylight. The plate is simply placed on the table top and illuminated by the LED module (ApeCoin). Due to the fluorescent particles, the plate must be colored orange.
